My fucking stupid piece of shit printer! Help!

I have an Epson...I never print in color, yet the fucking catridge level on the color cartridge always drops whenever I print something in black ink only.

Now the fucking catridge is out of color ink, and it won't let me print, even in black, unless I inconvenience myself by going out to by a new color cartridge.

What a fucking scam.

Anyone out there know how to bypass this? It's an Epson 777...and I'm using a Mac.

Sometimes if you remove the cartridges and put them back the printer thinks they are new and you can squeeze a few more pages out.

Also take a look at this site http://www.mediastreet.com/index.html

I fitted an old Epson 1200 up with their $180 ink system and so far have printed more than 500+ 13 x 19 full color pages and the ink bottles are still looking more than half full. Beats paying $38. for Epson cartridges ?

Yup, that's what I'd figure... makes for an interesting support forum.

Pull out the cartridge, drop it back in. Make sure if your prompted to tell the software its a new cartridge. ;) If its actually out of ink, which you should check, buy a new printer. Alot of printers will use the color even though your printing in black only.

Hope that helps

I use a bulk delivery system for my specialty inks. I like the design of the systems in your link. Here's a pic cause I have a problem maybe you can shed light on. The part in the middle supporting the tubes is jacked-up because its held on by 2-sided tape and occasionally the lines will snag the metal "floor" of the sprinter and stop the printhead.. Do you have a pic of your system?

Do a nozzle check. Look for broken lines in the test print. Broken lines = clogged color print nozzle.

Hi my system is the Niagara, an older version that has a solid plastic arm about 8 inches long. So far i havent had your problem. The only thing that i didnt like was it took ages to remove air from the lines. I now see they have a new primed system that dose away with the need to prime when you set it up. Sorry i cannot help more !
