Total adult related SE traffic per day

Let's hear your educated guess

# of unique surfers searching for adult terms do google and yahoo combined send to web sites PER DAY?

5 Million
10 Million
20 Million

?

Google had 200 Mio "searches per day" last time I looked. They prolly count each click on "next page" as a new search though, to spice up the numbers

edited mio to million

Altavista a few years ago published a statistic that roughly 60% of their searches were adult related. You can do some extrapolations to venture a guess from there.

Not sure how AV came up with that but I am almost certain it is too high if that numbers mean unique surfers. It may be right if it refers to "searches" though. I could imagine adult surfers searching around more and generating more searches per surfer

Only 30-40% of searches on google is adult.
Check wordtracker stats and top 1000 keywords.

That's still a HUGE number of hits from search engines though...

top 1000 may lower than you expect - just think of the phrases people type in - some long specialised terms
