If all these processors were to go out of biz at this very moment.

would Penthouse take over the world?

or do you as a program owner have alternatives?

as a program owner... you only get so many eggs tho right?

I can understand if I was an affiliate. There are many programs out there...but merchant accounts? I guess they will pop up when it's there time. That should clean up the industry.

If it is that way. I am not that concerned.

There are alternatives if you are willing to pay for your own merchant account.

Merch account rates depend on your volume and risk rating... we're setting up an aggrigate system right now to allow lower volume people get an account. If you need an unique descriptor you need some volume, around 50K/mo and up depending on growth potential.

When i set up my company merchant account they checked your credit, they ask exactly what you will be processing for and back when we got ours they charged us around $800.00 set up fee plus gateway fee of about $50 a month for a virtual terminal. I would guess that is on the low side now as this was 4 years ago.

We've been setting up adult and mainstream merchant accounts all month for various clients, not hard to do at all.
