				Reckless Driving??
My brother got nailed for reckless driving! 90mph in a 35, apparently a misdemeaner! Should I get him an attorney for this? or should I just let him go defend himself! he is 20 and I don't think he realizes that this is more serious than a regular traffic violation! Anyone with experience in this? |

				 | get an attorney if he is innocent, otherwise, I doubt he will go to jail, but he will lose his license for 6 months probably |

				 | Any more details? 95 in a 30 zone isn't neccessarily "reckless" if done at 3am with no other traffic or pedestrians around, but if he did it outside a school at 9am then tell him to say goodbye to his licence... |

				 | In most states, reckless driving is 25mph over the posted speed limit. It can carry jail time if the judge is in a bad mood or if you act like it's no big deal. Get him a lawyer or tell him to act very sorry when he goes to court. |

				 | you'd be better off taking his license yourself and the keys to his car, until he learns how to drive with regard to other people's safety |

				 | I got one a few years ago in when I was in MN. It was only a $145 fine but they told me to goto court cause it was REALLY bad to have on your record. Didn't bring any legal rep with me and setteled it for the maximum fine for speeding ($250) but it was reduced to a speeding ticket so insurance didn't go up that much. Better cost wise in the long run but cost me $105 more than just paying it. It also wasted a solid 5 hours of time when I was sitting in court waiting for my case (Had to show up at 8:00 am but didn't get to settle untill after lunch 1:00 pm). So it was worth it for me to goto court over all.
