I believe its all about balance,

You don't have to save all the time, until you are 65 and then drop dead with a million in the bank.. waste of time and life.

You can save 80% of the time, and only have 500k by the time you are 65 but lived quite a happy life instead of being mr scrooge 24/7.

all about not going to the extremes of either not saving at all or saving every single penny.

I wonder how many webmasters will be working in their golden years because they wanted to enjoy life and spend their earnings. This is my biggest fear. I see older people working later in life for less money. Age discrimination is forcing alot of the older work force into early retirement, and they are not ready for it financialy.

million dollars is chicken shit today. so most of these people are dead on middle class. to be rich you have to go for it. squirreling it away is not the answer.

Reminds me of all the old ass people I see when I travel for fun.
They saved up all their lives until all they can do on their 'adventures' is sit and watch a sunset.

Sorry, rather skydive, scuba dive, hang glide, surf, travel while I'm young enough to enjoy...fuck the saving for the future when you can enjoy it today, because tomorrow you may die. It's been an awesome life with incredible adventures...no regrets.
