Someone charges something on your CC

What if someone charges something on your credit card. What happens then, are you fully insured by the credit card or what

No, because all internet / non cardholder present (no signature) purchases are at the retailers risk.

If you were caught by your ip etc though you face prison for fraud.

Where I live the credit card company has to give you your money back if they can't prove that it was you used it. For internet they can also look at the mailing address.

Being a carder years ago I remember something about the card companies only reimbursing more than $50 worth of fraudulant charges. They wouldn't be bothered with under $50.

That's correct if your signature is not on the slip, it is charged back to the retailer, if its within a limited time period, following a short investigation by the credit card company.

If your card is slolen, you are only liable until you have reported it.

They may pay you compensation on a case by case basis.

FYI they also pay $50 for recovery of stolen cards.

Best possible answer, is call up the company who issued you this credit card.
