Car Guys - Want $40 paypal?

Whenever my car is on and running, everything is fine. However, the past 3 times i've had the a/c on for about 15-20 minutes, the engine just shuts off, power steering+brakes go out, battery still works fine. When I go to turn it back on, it'll come on and turn right back off about 5 seconds later. After letting it sit for a few hours, everything will work perfectly fine.

Anyone know what's up with this? Whoever helps gets $40 paypal, maybe more. thx

why dont you just use the 40 to go and put it in a garage and find out?

most mechs do free quotes anyway.

BTW what car/model/year?

you have a relay that is getting hot with a self-resetting breaker. It gets hot, the breaker trips, it cools down and resets.

I can't tell you which one from here

He did not say I had to fix it. Finding the relay for his a/c should be easy enough. I did my part.

probably the correct answer.

the question is what is making the relay get hot.

other things to check:

bearings in compressor.

bearings in all items driven by serpentine belt. (alternator, power steering pump, water pump)

condition of belts, i.e. slipping.

have a mechanic look at it.
