:stop Ex-Aide Says Bush Doing 'Terrible Job' In Terror War

Richard A. Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism coordinator, accuses the Bush administration of failing to recognize the al-Qaida threat before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and then manipulating America into war with Iraq (news - web sites) with dangerous consequences.

He accuses Bush of doing "a terrible job on the war against terrorism."

That's kinda harsh!

The bastard needs a bullet in the brain for every Iraqi child who was killed and every US family who lost a father/son/husband in Iraq. The practical problem with that is Bush's brain is only peanut size and incapable of holding all that lead...

These comments are from someone who worked in the White House with Bush.

Is it your opinion that anyone who disagrees with Bush, even if they were working in a Republican administration and witnessed Bush's mistakes first hand, is a "leftest"?

Too much Rush Limbaugh again?

"Ex-Aids" of all kinds and for both parties have been doing that for decades.... It's not going to make any difference this time either.

This will not be dismissed easily by anyone but right wing partisans.

He's going to testify before congress, probably about how Bush wanted his people to find a reason to attack Iraq, even though many in the intelliegence community thought it would hurt the war on terror.

Many did... many didn't. So?

And when is this hearing? After the election? - And is it going to change the situation in Iraq?

Good, Bad - Right, Wrong - It's done. Anything else is just an attempt to effect the election at this point.

The more we end up divided on this... the better the terrorists are going to like it.

Just listen to Kennedy.

I assume you're referring to "haaf slave, haaf free" :-)

Kennedy is a bad example for your dogma. He didn't listen to his advisors, and he most likely stopped a Third World War because of that. Bush listened to his and has created not only a vastly divided America but a world mostly against America, witness Spanish elections and Polish leaders calling him out. Not to mention a world-class A-Q recruitment poster.

Please don't ridicule either of those "allies". They're about the only allies he (not "we") has left.

The sooner people realize dissent is patriotic the better. Two words : Weimar Republic.

It's a-ffect not e-ffect btw.

You discount what he says because he wrote a book? Does that apply to everyone who has ever written a book or just to those who question your hero, George W. Bush?

I will watch his interview...and I will read his book...and make my determination as to his credibility. I basically take "tell alls" with a "large" grain of salt when they are telling all to make money.

FYI...the President is not a hero of mine.

If you want to be a good right winger, after calling Kennedy a "fat slob", you need to accuse "liberals" of name calling.

What amazes me about these "Whistle Blowers" is why did they not see it at the time or have the guts to stand up and criticise?

They just take the money and go along with the lies and then sell a book about it later.

A good question coming from a Clueless one...hmm. I suggest because they have questionable character thus...questionable credibility...very possibly spewing their own lies...to make a buck.

Anyone who dares to question anything Bush does is a "terrorist" in your brainwashed right wing world.

Whistle blowing has never been a safe profession, and given that the majority of those in politics are spineless worms when faced with massive pressure (as whistle blowers often are), it's no surprise.

Atleast now he has a book to hide under and any damage done to him would be in a much more public light than it would have been previously - whistle blowers are not very popular among their once colleagues and have been known to have unfortunate runs of luck once letting cats out of bags.
