Do people really still use NT to host on?

    Do people really still use NT to host on?

    and why? Unless you need something that's Windows specific? I don't get it! Why would anyone want to host on NT in a high traffic enviroment?!

    unless they need an asp application, even you can run chillisoft asp thats put out by sun for linux

        no not saying they would saying for someone like an adult sponsor i have seen it have asp before. but never have seen that. that would be weird. apache handles things much better iis just limits the amount of connections at once it will bog down and go nuts. i wouldnt want to host adult sites on windows

          Agreed, I didn't think anyone would want to use IIS in a high traffic enviroment, hell, even M$ doesn't even use it for Windows Update!

                  People still use Windows for serving mainly for video feeds. Not as many use it for other items as much anymore. Unfortunately there isn't a Open Source application to do proper video streaming like Windows Media Player.

                    iis6 and asp.net is about the fastest thing out there right now.

                    iis6 and asp.net are both complete rewrites...no more asp.
