Free traffic from good galleries that are submitted all over the place with your stupid little banner.

I begged and pleaded and nobody not once ever contacted me

Then take the plunge and accept no-recip galleries. Why should he have to leave your (or anyone's) recip up when the gallery has been rejected? Changing it will get him banned elsewhere and by leaving it up you do in fact get something for nothing.
