Not sure if this has been posted already, but I saw on the news a few hours ago that Paris Hilton was thrown off a horse at a rodeo here in Tampa. She was Med-evaced (sp?) to St Joe's Hospital.

I almost got killed on a horse that went into a full gallup then bucking furiously to knock me off and then he tryed to stomp my head in after he sent me airborne and onto the ground. I accidently kicked him in the groin when he wouldn't move and my girlfriend who was on the front of the horse said to give him a little nudge and I missed.

I still have the scars from it.

I had a friend who was an equestrian and he'd like to take his horse on free rides on weekends - one weekend the horse just threw him off and he fell on a rock - took about 2 hours before his family found him and took him to the hospital. He remained in a coma for 8 months at the age of 21 - his life has never been the same since although he's well today, his decision-making was a little warped for a few years after that.
