or melting.... not sure which.

smells like melting mainboard..... but i see no smoke from anything, and I can't pinpoint it.

When that happens, 9 times outta 10 it's the power supply.

But you may want to take a peak at the fans for the cpu, case and power supply.

If any of them are stopped or spinning slowly, you might wanna shut her down.

fuck.... i found it.

was my Antec backup box. A big ass cloud of smoke started pouring out of it. Fucking cpu or the mainboard or something just fucking self-destructed.

Once one of my fans in a remote server seized up and eventually took out the power supply... when I got to the physical box the entire metal case was uncomfortably warm and the PS itself was too hot to hold. The whole (op<b></b>en plan) building stank of burning electronics. I'm lucky it didn't start a fire, as I didn't have indemnity insurance at that time.
