How much will it cost to replace my CCD chip in my still camera - GoFuckYourself.com

I tried cleaning my CCD chip and it looks like I scratched it. Has anyone had to replace the CCD chip on a Fuji S1 Pro... or any other digital SLR? If so, how much did it cost ya?

Probably best to call up Fuji and just find out. I think they would probably be the only ones able to do this repair.

Fuji directs me to a local repair shop here in NYC... and the repair shop won't discuss rates till they examine the camera, and if you don't get the camera fixed by them, they charge a fee for looking at the camera. I'm gonna take it in for repair tomorrow... was hoping to get an idea of how much it's gonna run me.

i wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than the camera itself.
