external hard drive ?????

ok hardware gurus....please advise....

I want to copy my entire hard drive from computer A to an external portable hard drive....

attach it to computer B.....start up computer B.....access the external drive....

will all the programs....files...utilities work...just as though I were using computer A? Example: use cute FTP to upload...etc....

any help....advice....suggestions are most appreaciated....

you need to use a program like DriveCopy or something for that.

you may have to make some changes if the hardware is different, otherwise it should be ok. using a drive copy program is a good idea, you will probably have to do a reboot or 2 to let windows reconfigure itself to the new system
