Sites disappearing from Google listings?

Ok so I don't know much about SEO. Perhaps someone here can answer this?

My boyfriend has a few nonadult sites that have consistently been #1-3 for a few google keywords over the past few months. Suddenly a few days ago, sites were no longer coming up for these searches, in fact not even in first 10 pages. Nothing has changed with the sites, know why this might be happening?

Google is always doing changes ... Or it was some search engine spammers that stole the spots

What's the keywords? Maybe they're adding more filters?

I had the same thing happen to me for one of my extremely relevant mainstream sites. Gone. I didn't bother looking after the first 10 pages.

Give us the name of his sites and i will Have a look for you.
I would probably say he has been dropped because of linking to a bad neighbourhood or perhaps from his own nest.google are alot more sophisticated at finding out whether your backlinks are legitimate or whether they come fom a link farm or a nest of your own sites.
