London's Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens says that a terror attack on the British capital of London is inevitable. In a press conference today he said the London faced a ?very real threat?. After the serious comments, he said that people should carry on as normal, but to watch for and report anything suspicious. Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, said it would be "miraculous" if the capital escaped attack. No specific threat has been mentioned, but extra effort is being put into securing the Tube (London?s mass transit).


France has received threats from a terrorist group known only as ?Servants of Allah?. The threats were unspecific and spoke of attacks on France and French interest abroad. Although the terrorist group is unheard of, France?s Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, said that they were taking the threats seriously. Al-Qaeda?s apparent affect on Spain?s election results can only strengthen the will of its members, and prompt other groups to seek similar results.

"A group calling itself 'Servants of Allah, the Powerful and Wise One' on Tuesday sent the prime minister a message via Le Parisien newspaper that included threats against both the national territory and our interests abroad," the ministry said on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, French President Jacques Chirac said after talks with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder: "France is not currently a specific target, but like all democracies, it is not immune from terrorist acts."

The attacks in Spain last week appear to be the beginning of a new wave of terrorist operations in Europe. Experts in terrorism from key member states are meeting to discuss the situation in Madrid for the next few days. EU member interior ministers have scheduled a meeting to discuss the urgent situation in Brussels this Friday. EU members are set to discuss greater sharing of intelligence between member states.

What the new socialist goverment said was, that without U.N backing they will pull there troops out starting from June or July, hopefully finally there will be U.N backing.
