FreeBSD Gods in the House? - ImageMagick Question

got a bud trying to install Imagemagick on a 5.1 freebsd box and ran into a problem and is stuck...anyone have experience with this?

damn wish i could help.. i installed it ok from ports.. but i had problems with .gif support.. because it's not under license or some shit anymore.

You can't just answer a question like this without knowing more details...

How is he building Imagemagick?

Either you specify the proper --with-jpeg= --with-png= lines when you configure it and it works, or you don't, it's that simple.

The orginal jpg package may not be installed correctly.
There shouldn't be much depending on it in a server install,
pkg_delete it (depending how badly the orginal install was
maybe even force it) and let the ports depends reinstall it.
