Best for me changes depending on what I feel like at the time.
Last night I was enjoying Alexander Keith's, the best widely available beer at pubs in Toronto, IMHO. We have all sorts of great cottage breweries. But a really good beer, is one that I can't drink a lot of over an evening. Niagara Bock is a fav, but I only have one in an evening. ![]()

Not sure about beers, but the best ale is Rouge's Shakespear Stout, an oatmeal creamy stout, made in Newport Oregon.

ever tasted Westvleteren? You shood... In almost every beer guide this is rated as the top 1 beer by far:
http://www.bottledbeer.co.uk/index.html?beerid=359 Prices go as high as 20$ in the states for 1 small bottle (costs around 4$ in Belgium) Super rare but worth the search! some feedback: "When I had the only bottle of this beer that I've ever tasted (at the Erasmus in Brugges) I thought it was the best beer I've ever had." "This beer is truly excellent- I like to think of it as an entire meal in a glass! Such complexity and rich fruitiness which does make it a rare treat." "After three years, this is just unbelievable. The flavor just explodes on your tongue - and the warmth immediately proceeds to your toes. Just absolutely rich, complex, satisfying" For some who never tasted beer, prepare, this does not taste like Carlsberg/Bud Light... |

One of the BEST beers you can drink, you'll have to travle to get. You can only buy in in a monistary where monk's make it. (No Shit)
If you happen to be in Germany, Take a train to what they call in the U.S. wildfleckin. Although I think it's pronounced Veal-fleckin. Anyway, From there you have to take another train to Geissen. It use to be one of the few trains that pulled by a electric/diesel engine. When you get off the train, Take a cab or ask directions to the monistary, It's about a 20 - 30 minute walk (Uphill!) But for then 9 marks for a half-liter 12 Marks for a full liter. + you can keep the mug. It's a light amber that goes down like water! Scary smooth. It's called the Croitzberg Monistary. There are a lot of monks all over germany and europe making klosterbrau. There's nothing quite like it. If you can go expeirience them for yourself. Sorry about the mis-spelled words but..... Hookt on fonix werkt for mee!
