Bravo
that room was the 'suicide' room of the jail, or the padded cell. it was all squishy walled, rather cool actually. I wanted the shot of the guy sticknig the ceiling wires in his mouth, but it came out looking like a rope, so hey :D
I like the pictures. You had me staring at them trying to figure out what they were. The one with the doors looks like a copper Art deco hotel hallway. Really nice work.
Cheers!

just wondering......what kind of jail doesn't have the doors attached....it was just funny the way u wrote it.....i'm sure theres a reasonable explanation
Originally posted by booker Nice.. although I'd be wary of over-doing the depth of field/off axis combinations. It's "been done."
Then again, if you can do it well, and just a little different than everyone else, it's a winner.
Hey man, thanks for the comments.. you're right, of course, too much off axis is a bad thing.. but by the same token, so is too much on axis, so i guess you've just gotta play with it.
For those who were wondering, I was shooting w/ a Canon 300V (film) fuji 200. The lens is a 17-40, which is just an amazing lens, it really is.
I'd been in the jail previously (it's been shutdown for 6 years or so) via grappling hook, bolt cutters and ripped pants (ever tried breaking INTO a jail lol?) but this time workers were pulling it down (hence the doors off) so we went in and were allowed to poke around in there. Amazing stuff!
just some photos i shot in a deserted jail yesterday.
Not everything has to be naked, you know. :D
Cool, old jails are fun. I went to Alcatraz last summer, that place is pretty awesome. At one point I was alone in the basement, which was pretty weird. Nice pics though, very artistic.
