In a nutshell:

Hungryman outsourced some design jobs. He was taking a 50% cut, which i think is outrageously high, but the designers agreed to it, so that's not an issue.

However, one of the designers that did some of the work for him actually found out how much hungryman charged for a particular job, and how much hungryman was going to pay him. It was not 50% of what hungryman was charging.

Doesn't really matter though, seeing as he didn't pay anything at all. And that must have been about 2 years ago.

The few jobs the guy did do were far and away the best items in paysitedesign.com's portfolio, and the designer never saw a single cent for them.

The sites are still in the portfolio for paysitedesign.com (almost 2 years after the fact).

he uses toons not created by him, but by a close friend of mine, and never gives the guy work because he doesnt want anything to do with Hungry. he used to love to post his "toon work" and id ask my friend if he was getgting work, nope... but Hungry sure was pocketing the money off the sales using my boys work.

I remember that the other guy had every right to be pissed off with what was going on, but he totally messed up when he brought it to the boards 'cause of the way he handled it. And i still remember that hungry picked the guy up from the airport in a limo. This was when he had outstanding debts with several designers.

Its more common than you think .
I worked for Hungryman for over a year before he had a problem with payment , and then he paid after a post on this board cause he paid better than the rest .

Im not defending Hungry in anyway ,but he has cleared his debt with me and I think I owe it to him to make that clear .

Hey Steve G, Hungryman was a friend of mine when I first entered the industry. I did not work with him or for him...

When his wife/girlfriend kicked him out of his house I started a drive to help him get some computer parts so he could make some money to help him get a computer to work on so he could raise enough money to get into a new apartment. People were very kind and sent him I believe something like $1700Us which was much more then he needed.

He used that money to get himself into a new apartment and buy a used computer as far as I know. I myself did not get a penny and never wanted a penny. I was just happy to help a guy that was down on his luck, if that was a bad thing then I guess I am a bad guy.

Since then Hungry has made some very bad decisions in this business and has essentially ruined himself. I don't talk to him really much anymore but I do think he has a good heart but he is one hell of a bad business man.

And for the record thank you for helping Hungry out when he was down on his luck. However I do think he is the one who should be thanking you though...

I suggested them making some small payments here and there, just to keep up a modicum of good faith on the debt instead of letting months go by with no word to her..... they BOTH agreed to this.

Well, I have Rikki Lee on ICQ right now...... she confirms that niether one of these monkies has followed through on their promise, no payments have been received.

Hungryman AND Pensfan (AKA: Buck Naked) --- you guys are worth less than shit for not honoring your word to Rikki Lee and any designer you've kept waiting for, what is it now, going on THREE YEARS?

To any of his clients, this isnt about the quality of work he provides you. Its about the fact he doesnt do it himself, he outsources to other designers, takes your money for the designs, then never passes on the designers cut.

I have spoken to many people about this. some are happy to have Hungryman to do designs for them... they simply dont see he is the middle man taking the money and stealing from the people who do the hard work.

Yes on ocassion he has paid up. But I would be guessing on all those occassions it took a bit of hounding to get that money. All of this happened with me over 2 years ago, so who knows how he operates now.

I once suggested when he was in bad debt, to go and get a real job.
He simply said. he had been doing this too long and couldnt cope. He was appauled that I would even suggest such a thing!
I think that says it all....
