Traffic Trade Etiquette

Need some help here. Is there any protocol/etiquette re dropping a trade partner because his traffic is non productive?
Do I send the guy an email telling him that I will be dropping the trade?

I just try to be polite in my business dealings.

Just disable the trade and (in case he's forcing) notify him to pull the force. If he's not forcing, just disabling the trade will do, since his script won't send anything to you if it's not getting any returns, which means the trade will more or less die 'naturally'.

Thanks, Damage X and Spunky. I'll write a courtesy email that spells out the options below to cover differing situations.

One more tip:
Don't make it personal. I have plenty of trades that work great on one site, and for whatever reason, do not work out at all on another one of my sites with a similar layout. When one trade doesn't work out, it is not the end of the world.

If the trade is not working out then set it on ratio of 0.3 and let it die alone.

Dont make trading personal cause if ppl take it personal they are idiots and should be doing something else. Some sites just dont work well together PERIOD

I let my script do the work, if their prod is crap, they'll get hardly anything back. Once they give up and their in count is down to 0, I delete it. I rarely delete or disable active trades, unless their prod is absolutely shocking... (like 50% on a 300% site)

Hmm, it seems to me that many folks here quite school early this year. How about the good old business ethics and gentlemanship, or maybe the majority of people here just don't give jack shit about it.

Yeah, I also traded with a bunch of those once. And eventually I got fucked 10 times for each good and fair trade.

Rule 1: BEFORE ya trade, hook da guy up and say HELLO.
Rule 2: AFTER killing a trade, immmidiately notify the poor guy who didn't make it.

Rule 3: Don't be an asshole. Too many of those around - make a difference, rise and shine and get rewarded with a good reputation for being an honest guy. It pays in a business with 95% hustlers and 5% honest, hard working lads and lassies.

Rule 4: Maybe you get to earn a set of fluffy wings when you die, just for being nice & fair with your return ratios

Rule 5: Aint that many of those around here who want to give people the chance they so badly needed once themselves, when they were a n00body. Usually the same guys bragging around here.

how do you guys measure tgp trade productivity? is it just on the traffic volumes or so you monitor what the surfer does too?

There's no commercial trade script that can really track your traffic's prod, other than click prod, and factor that in when returning to trades.
