    anyone here make birdhouses?

    the wind has been kickin' like mad here.... and I got this poor little fucking bird trying to hold down eggs in this tiny little beat up nest in a tree right next to my deck..... poor bastard has been getting thrashed all day by this wind....

    so I wanna build him a damn birdhouse and nail it to the deck. Something with stability.

    was wondering if anyone has any experience with a good kit? Or anyone that builds them and wants to sell one?

                          I built some when I was in Indian Guides in the 70's and a small child... they're pretty much a box with a hinged lid and a hole in the front

                                  i was thinking something a little more upscale.... sort of a bird split-level townhouse. Skylights, balcony, you know... something cool. No reason it's gotta be plain and boring right?

                                          I don't make them, but I've got about 50 all over the trees in my front yard. I used to be obsessed with putting them up, for some reason. And they don't give a shit one way or the other if they're nice, or not. I would put up one or two expensive ones, then a couple cheap ones and they'd always nest in the cheapos first. Just make sure it's not over or next to anything you like or touch a lot, because they'll shit all under and around it.
