I'm getting Laski eye surgery...Anything I should know?

Im getting Laski eye surgery, anything I should know? Ive been doing some research, and seems there are a lot of different equipment for doing Lasik, such as VISX Star S4, LADARVision, and the ALLEGRETTO WAVE which is brand new.

Anything you guys have heard about any of those? Any experiences? do's or don't? Thanx

You'll need lots, and lots, and lots of eyedrops.

I think laski was the one who invented it , but didnt have the foresight to finish the job. He is still keeping an eye out for customers to work on. But I would try Lasik as well, save you crying your eyes out after the fact

I have had it done and I will say its amazing

I went from 20/400 vision ( I couldnt read a watch without glasses)

to 20/15

If they offer collogene plugs for your tear ducts get then they disove after a week or so but they prevent your eyes from drying up as bad

and yes for 2 weeks or so you will go through a lot of prescrition Eye drops

I had it done 2 years ago and its awesome I still amaze people today when I can read signs way off in the distance

I agree with Sykkboy. Don't go price-shopping on something like this. Those $299 places just fuck you anyway as a friend of mine recently found out:

"Its funny because I got the flyer and it said $299 per eye, I was like COOL!. When I got there, it was $599 an eye because I am -3.25 Then at my pre-op today, they suggested that I get some collegan plugs so I wouldn't dry up. $150 per eye, then I got the 3 year warranty. $200 more per eye. $1900 dollars."

So just make sure you're going to someone reputable with references you have bothered to check for yourself. If they fuck this up you could be blind so it's no joke.

I have a friend who was the same way

hell, people ask me why I don't drive, it's because I can see fucking signs (and my whole short attention span while driving thing). Glasses don't help because I have this little ridge on the bridge of my nose where I scoped myself with a gun when I was younger, so they don't fit right and I'm constantly adjusting them. I can't do contact lenses because of allergies, my eyes get all drippy...

I am looking at getting my eyes done as well. Can anyone recommend a great eye surgeon in the Toronto area to get this done by.

Money is not an object when I am dealing with my health.

good advice guys. Yeah, I won't be looking for a bargain, will be looking for the best surgeon

How long after your surgery were you guys able to work on the computer? I work 10 hours per day on the computer, so how much of a downtime will I have after the surgery? I don't want to risk fucking up my new vision by overworking right after te surgery

I've had it done.

My advice: Don't blink.
Oh and the smell is like burning hair...

The actual procedure takes like 20 mins and your downtime will probably be 2-3 days, safely anyways.

Don't do anything which puts pressure on your eyes or behind your eyes....like bending, stooping....

I'd like to know as well. Also, why does it take 20 minutes? So you have a lazer burning into your eyes for 20 minutes?

It doesn't hurt. They'll put drops in your eyes so you don't really feel anything. It may be uncomfortable at times, but not painful.

The whole thing should take less than 20 minutes. The actual laser only lasted about 5 seconds per eye for me.

Good luck!
