The Clash's London Calling

I am listening to the disk after a couple of years. It is amazing to think that this album still sounds fresh and relevent 24 years later.

Killer music.

What other albums are like that? New 20 years later.

From a punk rock perspective the first one was better, but London Calling's got some fucking amazing songs on it. I don't think there's a crappy song on the whole album.

Kinda funny -- I was going through the same line of thought listening to a couple CDs this weekend. A few of my 'still fresh' throwback favorites:

Television :: Marquee Moon (wonder where the White Stripes got their influences)
X :: Los Angeles
Kiss :: Destroyer (I'll probably take arrows for that one)
Black Sabbath :: Paranoid (or most any of their albums)

BTW -- it's been ~17 years since Appetite for Destruction came out. Anyone else feeling hella-old??

refused - the shape of punk to come
all - allroys revenge
bad religion - against the grain
new order - substance
anything by minor threat
anything by the doors is timeless

OMG-the Clash...

That was one of my very first concerts. We were definitely not old enough to be there. We snuck off to Rich Stadium, where they warmed up for the Who.....

Do you know where your children are? ;)

I've got a shield man...feel free to duck behind it with me. Destroyer is the shit. A few more to add to the list are Alive I and II.

Totally agree. Bad Religion and New Order really fell off, but they had a great moment with those two.

I've got a soft spot for all-things-Bad Religion. Against The Grain was amazing, but no less brilliant than Recipe for Hate or Stranger than Fiction. The period without Brett kinda blew, but even Process of Belief was pretty excellent if you like pseudo-intellectual punk (as I do)...

I am not as big a clash fan as some other punks are BUT the title song is one of the best songs of all time.
