HELP: What programs do I NOT need enabled in Startup?

Hey guys

My computer runs like shit!!!!!

I am looking in the msconfig area, and I have sooooooo many start-up programs...i'm a wee bit dumb in this area.

I'm running WindowsXP...

does anyone know exactly what programs I need enabled for Windows to run properly?

Only the files that are a MUST are the ones I want to keep.

Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys!

A lot of av programs put themselves in your startup unneccessarily. If you see Real Player or Quicktime, etc. you should turn those off. They do all kinds of stupid shit.

Basically you can play around with your setting without worrying. If Windows really needs something to operate, it will tell you so.

you don't NEED any of them, clear them all and if you find life is easier with some of them, add those ones back
