"The deputy attorney general said it was something they had been increasingly concerned about."

Mr Blunkett's spokesman added: "The home secretary briefed the US officials on the Jane Longhurst case and they were horrified by the details."

Longhurst was strangled by musician Graham Coutts, 35, from Hove, East Sussex, just hours after he viewed websites such as Necrobabes and Hangingbitches.

He was jailed for life for murdering the young special needs teacher, whose corpse he stashed in a storage unit for 35 days.

Coutts visited the body 10 times during that time.

The spokesman noted the legal implications of a crackdown were "more complicated" than banning child pornography, for example, because of the first amendment in the US, which establishes freedom of expression.

Read carefully...Under pretenses of " violent sites" without specifying what is " violent", they will close you down... using your service provider or VISA, not the courts.

this isnt like child porn where people are taking naked pics of kids, most of these sites are just acted out by models. meaning that no actual crime is commited, its jus the same as watching a violent hollywood movie, if people get turned on by it then thats their problem.

this could mean ALL bondage style sites, any drunken chicks sites, or just anything else the gov, decide the CC companies and ISPs arnt allowed to let you see anymore.

If that story doesnt worry you in anyway then why are you on a webmasters board?!

Is a spanking site violent? Is pinching nipples violent? What might be violent to you might be normal to someone else. We are talking about fantasy sites here with actors. No different than watching a action film or horror film except with porn. If they shutdown violent porn sites, they should stop any movies coming out with similar content.

So if a bondage site is said to be violent. Then any mainstream movie that shows some form of bondage should be banned, just the same. If a violent site has to do with rape or killing someone. What happens when they have finished with the "violent" sites, ok if fantasy horror acted by by adults is deemed obscene then hollywood is sure in trouble.

And what after that, the extreme bondage sites which "promote and portray violence against woman", then the spanking sites which do the same, then the "simulated bondage sites".....then the sites that show 3 guys on one woman, cos that can be deemed as demeaning, etc, etc...
