I really considered my first friend in this industry was shemp.I look up to because how he is with his buisness and how warm hearted he is and truley the sweetest guy i have met to date.

Aaron,you know I speak my mind.. I look up to you because I am still very new in this industry and you have helped me out figuring which path is best for me to take. I can count on my fingers people who have given me some great insight and pointed me in the right direction since I have started. I look to you more as a friend than a biz contact to be honest. Cant say how many times i have always appreciated your help..

So am I kissing ass?? no im just saying how i feel.. I can say the same about some others here as well. even ones that have not given me direct help they have supported me with my ventures.. I can honestly say i have made some close friends since i have started and those whom i respect and support with their ventures..

I guess for me it's about who earns my respect and who looses it...


I usually will support people that I believe would do the same towards me... While I would probably help a bunch of people if they need my help, I will not give away so freely my trust or more restricted info to people I don't know personally for years...


So if you see me support someone, it's either because he's earned my respect , or because I've known the people for a while, or have done good business with them.

But I do agree there's a lot of people giving support to people they've never met, never talked to or never contacted... I guess that's life heh

I look up to people for courage, honesty, generosity, selflessness and success without stepping on people along the way.

For me, respect is earned, not dished out.

No matter how you word the point of this thread....In now way do I feel that by looking up to somebody that you are admitting that they are better than you.

When I was 16, the uncle of a friend of mine told me the following:

"Always remember that nobody is better than you."

well, in our culture money gets respect...but that is an answer as to why a newbie would love you

So I guess then it really comes down to that I have a lot of respect for lots of people in this biz. Of course you're going to have respect for the top program owners making millions. But that's a superficial respect. If you don't know the person then you can just repect the fact they've accomplished a lot.

But those that I do know personaly and have worked with and have proven to be honest, ethical business people, they I have a great respect for.

Have we met yet? If not, we need to.

I respect those that have been down and out, yet turn their life around for the better without being a bitter bitch. Too much bitterness these days.

I admire people who:

1.) Don't pick fights with people.
2.) Do not speak abusively in public.
3.) Do not discuss private business in public forums.

Actually the main reason I decided against is because I'm planning on hitting the Amsterdam show and while there I'm going to visit family in Italy. So that'll be a long vacation as it is.

to be serious for a few moments, I am not really sure if I look uo to anyone, it is more about respect, and that can range from my kids, to a multi-millionaire, to the guy standing on the freeway offramp selling oranges that is there day in and day out, rain or shine operating in survival mode.

I respect the achievers, the non-bullshitters, and young people that acknowledge that rap music is not really music at all, or anything special. I respect honest people.

I also respect AaronM for making himself what he has in such a relatively short time. It really is all about appearances in this business, and he has done a fine job.

And almost everyone is shorter than me...

If you all want someone to look up to, you can start with the people that accually do something that makes a difference in all our lives.

like firefighters, ambulance attendants, police officers, soldiers, ER doctors and nurses, coast guard rescue .........etc.

These people don't ask to be looked up to, but the next time one of them saves the life of a loved one, you may look back on this thread and see how small we all tend to think at times.

To get respect back, one commands it because they've fucking earned it.

Giving respect doesn't automatically guarantee you will get it back.
