Heh, my French sucks, I always need a couple of weeks in France to get back into it. The first time I arrived in Paris, I went to the tourist info booth at the Gare de Lyon and very politely asked the guy there if he spoke english....he just said "No", turned away, and refused to speak to me again, even when I tried in broken French.
Since then, whenever I'm in France I just address people in Zulu....it's most comical how quickly they try and speak english then
