Actually, you can't fold yourself to the final table when there's 100+ people playing. You would have to go all-in at least once to double your chips OR win the equivalent playing halfway decent hands. These tournaments usually get to level 12 or so when there's still 2 or 3 tables. 400/800 blinds will take you out pretty quick.Originally posted by broke

if you want to work as a prop player every now and then let me know. I believe you get 100% of your rake back if you play $1/$2 tables or higher for a certain amount of hours.
also I',m going to have buy-in 1 table tournaments all week with the house getting nothing. all buy-ins will go into the prize pool. I know it's not much but better than nothing.
Also stocktrader, if you aalways have 10 or more friends who want's to play in 1 table tournaments. I will set you up on % of their rake and knock off a big chuck of yours.

yeah with these free tournaments i don't give it my full attention so I get out quick. When it's real money, you are right. a different game being played.
I was thinking of having $3 buy-in tournament with unlimited $1 rebuys. that way if you really suck , you can still make it to the final table for $39...lol

The only way to truly find the 'best' poker player at GFY is for people who display/think they have talent in poker to compete seriously in some big tourney's i.e. real tournaments with big prizes, an entrance fee (so they're actually risking their own money) and preferably a lot of players (not just adult board players). In that sort of scenario most people will play to their best ability and the cream will always, over time, rise to the top.
All these tourneys with small or no prizes, no personal risk and few players genuinely good at the game prove little, as few people in them play to their full potential. There's a LOT of hands I'd play differently if I had my own money up for stake and several $k+ at stake...
