Porsche GT3 a good buy? Driving the gumball 3000 next year.

http://www.bytbil.com/largepics.cgi?....jpg&allpics=1

Is the porsche GT3 a good buy?

This one would go for 799 thousand swedish kronor.

about $560K

Is the car a good buy or is there better cars for that prize?

Im planning on buying this or maby a MB SLK.

Will be used to drive the gumball 3000 next year.

Anyone own any of these cars?

This years race does from...

The Event follows a 3000 mile route that begins in romantic Paris (France), and travels south via Biarritz (France) and the Pyrenees mountain range to Madrid (Spain) (see David Beckham), en route to Marbella?s Golden Mile (Spain) before crossing the Mediterranean Sea into Africa to Marrakech (Morocco). After partying with the King of Morocco and negotiating the Sahara Desert the route then returns to Europe heading to Barcelona (Spain) to catch the Formula One Grand Prix before finishing with a major party in Cannes back in the South of France. For those of you wishing to party for another week the famous Cannes film festival begins the following day

But I cant attend to this one since I dont have the money yet

But will next year for sure

An official announcement is to folllow soon, but me, and another GFYer will be at this years gumball representing full time
A website will be created with daily updates, pics, and videos, etc etc.

p.s. GT3 is a great great car, but not very 'everyday' sort of car.. for the price, consider a p.turbo... same speed, but more comfy (softer suspension, higher ride height) equally awesome looks, AWD, etc etc.

Well first off the GT3 is a wonderfull track day car and weekend play thing, but I would not do the Gumball in one, in standard form way to stiff, yours eyes will of fallen out of their sockets by the end of the event.

And where you get $560k from I dont know, they are about Euro 90/110k new and I have seen versions second hand with little miles on the clock in the UK for £56k.

One of the best "motoring" YV show's on the planet id on UK TV and they have their own track next to the studios, its called "TOP GEAR" they took the GT3 around the track in damp conditions and it beat evrything else to the point they where going to bring it back and do it again on a full dry track.

Sloane, I did ask Gumball where next years rally would be but as typical of Maximillion (owner/organisor) you will not get anything from him until about Sept/Oct 2004.

Max thinks of the routes, then goes and drives them himself first, he personally checks out all the hotels on route (Only the top hotels are used) thewn us Gumballers get to know about it.

Last time I chatted to Max he was thinking about doing 2 a year, 1 in Europe and one in the US but that would take some mamouth organising.

Raceman, 2 a year would be good! How hard is it to get in now? I read they give previous racers priority first, then choose the most exotic cars after that?? There must be thousands of applicants now with all the publicity.

WOW so many questions to answer...........

Well you are right about the entry list its not easy to get on board, but I did post here last year to get some interest in the early days of the entry list, if I do know that people are really interested (and not just pretending to want to do it) I can go to Maximillion and get a block booking.

I think that once you guys have seen the website we are putting up for this year and the pic's and vid's we aim to post back to GFY during the course of the event you guys will ave such hard on's to do it we might have a great "porn industry" team for 2005.

I now of 3 other GFY'ers that really want to do it next year but we shall see.
