Kids under 13 communicating unsupervised on the internet is illegal as far as I know. 13 is a minor but face it they're old enough to see it. It's just easier than in the old days when you started trying to buy dirty magazines off kids at school at 10 years old.

I said "Yall" isn't a word. It isn't. I then said it's hillbilly slang. If you care to dispute this that is your prerogative. It certainly is a term that is used by hillbillies. However, I am retracting nothing. |

But there is the spam and porn . If you install a good anti-spam like norton's one and a net nanny or something like that it's kinda safe. |

I have an opt-in list of 7 year olds that have purchased porn before. Hit me up and i'll send you a test list.
But seriously, If your 7 year old wants to send granny pics of her playing the sandpit why dont you just send them for her? |

maybe a seven year old doesn't need an email account. who could she possibly need to correspond with besides relatives?

Sorry, but if you're a parent and your kid is under 12 and is on the internet WITHOUT absolutely DIRECT supervision of activies- you're not doing a very good job.
The net is not like TV. Some shitty parents of my friends used to dump them in front of a TV to get them to fuck off. The net is different. My opinion is that if you have a child unsupervised on the internet- you are a fucking TERRIBLE parent. I don't care if you set out "bookmark" rules. Chances are they will get curious and start fucking around. Tell a kid not to do something what do you think they're going to do? I respect your opinion. However I think you should consider mine. |

I respect you opinion, and agree to a point. The net is different, it's more like the real world than TV. But, in the real world, if a pervert comes up and flashes his wares to my kids, while i'm escorting them down the street, i could have him arrested. |

exactly correct. porn has no business in UCE, none. and within the next 12 months a few webmasters will go down not necessarily because of UCE, but because it makes people on a jury so angry they will say something is obscene mostly because they are so fed up with this shit. here's a clue. don't foist your shit on someone, anyone, that does not want it. |
fucked up your kid got it - spam sucks

BTW...using the word "yall" is not necessarily a reflection of someone's intelligence. It may not be the best english in the world and not a word I would use in conversation outside friends and family, but certainly no worse than "shizzle". |

Problem is a lot of young jocks on here have no idea what is like to have children, most are still children themselves. Especially the ones making the remarks like I thought she would like it, etc. Hell I cannot let my daughter stand beside me while I check my email even though she is so interested in what her dad does. Why? because you jackasses out there that will send the hardcore spam to any email address you can get a hold of. :feels-hot |
you know sadly enough I thought that I was protecting my children. They are not allowed to access the internet at home unless myself or my husband is sitting right beside them. My 11 year old does have an email account but I filter it first and automatically delete any email that is not from her contact list. However, with that said, I recently found out that she has been able to access her email account from her school. I assumed that any internet access at school was monitored as it's a small school and they do have the faculty to do so. I guess I was wrong so now it's time for mama to show the school how pissed she is.
On a side note though, being in the business that we are we do know what transpires online by spammers and chat room predators. Why in the world would you allow your child free reign to the internet when you are aware of the things that can happen. My children are allowed nowhere near a chat room. If they are ever caught using one even if it is supposed to be a kids related chat room they will be permanently grounded from the internet. No ifs ands or buts about it! |
