You haven't heard sh*t until you experience scott weiland's solo record...12 bar blues i think it is called. Very bowiesk melodies and brilliant to boot...if you like good music. Anyone listen to these bands:

The Wrens
Radiohead
Grandaddy
The Shins
Blur
TV on the radio
trail of dead...

If you do you are my friend...other good bands can be found at http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/

Those er the bands I really like right now. I usually don't participate in social threads...but I am pretty tossed right now. I will regret this tomorrow....nevertheless I assure you that, when sober, I am very professional

slackologist...I'm sorry...was there a period when he wasn't wearing lipstick? I have seen stp live twice...they are one of the greatest live bands of our time. If there was a "jump the shark" of stp...it was when weiland started playing with slash around LA promoting "Hulk". Mind you, slash is among the top guitarists of this century and the last...but...that hulk sh*t sucked pretty good. Anyway if you every get a chance to check out 12 bar blues it is the greatest sex record in a while...and that was like 98 er something. I think it might be track 7 that is spectacular...and how often does that happen!!! Hmm chronic 2001 had a good one.

"Sour Girl" is a good one from one of the more recent albums. Maybe 2000 or 1999 I think. I can't imagine anyone not liking "Jimmy Was a Stimulator" from Scott Weiland's 12 bar blues though. You gotta get that one!

ROFLMAO.....Scott hooking up with Velvet Revolver was STP's "Jump The Shark?"

Scott and the DeLeo's had been fueding long before he joined up with Velvet. I agree that "Set Me Free" sucked, but had Scott not played drunken pinball off parked cars on Sunset Blvd, you would already be listening to the new album. It rocks.

Interstate Love Song is one of my all time favourite songs. Loved the whole Purple album... should dig it out and have a listen.

STP rules..... the greatest hits has a DVD of like 3 hours of live stuff, videos etc. Plus you get the acoustic version of "Plush" which is excellent.

I'm playing it to the bass and it still one of my favorite from STP

BTw I saw STP in show in Montreal 3 years ago with Red Hot Chili Pepper and the performance they did was far better than the one from RHCP ;)

<Have you heard Interpol?>

Yes. I think they're alright.

Oh and about the stp jump the shark with velvet revolver...that only sounded right when I was piss drunk. Now though...I agree that it sounds pretty stupid.

Scott weiland is an idiot now, though. That's for sure.

I was NOT a fan when i heard the radio blitz for the single but seeing them live I am now a believer.....they rocjed the house and EVERYONE there felt the same way.
