well we still have and always will over 107 sites ;-) in 67 niches...

The bottom line is that ARS is acting in what they consider to be their best long-term interests, which is understandable.

I am/was just upset about my short term losses because I had no previous warning of these changes.

And I do have AdultLounge promotion exclusively set up for one of my projects ;)

It isn't necessary for Topbucks, Nastydollars or BBO to get traffic on dialers by this way.

Beside of this, I like your new concept. Concentrate in quality, not in quantity.

The work they put in to that and into their own programs to promote it is worthless, unless you can explain to me how putting all the time and effort into building that stuff and having traffic redirected to PPC (or wherever) a grand idea.

I mean, you don't really have to explain it, it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

They click "yes, delete all".

Goodnight. I need sleep :)

lol, must be that time of the month for her.

Excuse my ranting, but ignorant responses from "reputable" people are much worse than ignorant responses from ignorant people ;)

Is it ever not? Kimmy is just one of the people on this board who if I happen to actually read her posts it makes me go "Phhhhh".

Her thoughts are 95% hot air and nothing more.

Sad but true.

Night.

lol, too funny.

But hopefully she'll get it through her head that a lot of what she posts is, for lack of a better word, stupid.

And I disagree with what she said about other sponsor programs following suit to this move by ARS. I won't say why, but I don't think it will happen.

But for myself, I lost all respect for ARS when Age Oath went tits up. I know it wasn't 100% their fault but they had their fingers all over that one and it cost me a lot of time and money. So, I do not trust ARS and without trust there can be no respect. Same thing for the Hawgs as well (they are the ones truly responsible for Age Oath).

business environment is changing - don't you realize it?
I am still not sure if the current changes are good, but I know that they are necessary for them.
Getting too less rebills and to many charge backs, Marc De could had decided to cash in and leave the industry but instead he did what he did and introduced ARS reinvented. I cannot see how this is a bad decision...and I am sure if the numbers with the old sites / the old BYOT model were good, they woulndn't had changded anything.
I still think ARS is the most trustworhty sponsor program, with Siver Cash very close behind and then....nothing :)

now that you are in answering mood

will you answer me those 2 questions:

1) why has somebody else apart from YOU posted the announcement here first

2) why (the fuck) arent you telling the webmasters that you want to continue sending 1000s of signups a day, a few weeks BEFORE those changes take effect.
I find it a bit disrespectful to annouce the deactivation on day 1 that is to follow on day 2

will you please tell me what your thoughts behind that were?

Nobody here is angry because you shut down your doors. I can understand that and was seeing that coming just after the new visa regs.
Its just the WAY you shot down and HOW you let your webmasters know

Well, since I do not use ARS myself, I haven't really read what they are doing exactly, but I do know you well enough to know that when you put your mind to do something, you do it full bore. To have the proverbial carpet pulled from under you sucks, but I am confident you will land on all four feet, and someone else will benefit from the efforts you were planning on directing towards ARS.

Thanks for the kind words Baddog.

Not receiving a warning ahead of time was just more irritating than it was hurting. I almost felt like I was "owed" a previous notice given how long I have been with ARS (account number in the 76XXX) and how much business I did with them. But oh well, this kind of stuff happens.

Cheers :)

Um, right.

You obviously don't understand numbers much less air.

Not to mention the fact that it is ridiculous and extremely childish to blame ARS for not giving you advance warning of changes they were making to their business, especially in the competitive nature of this industry. But of course you don't understand that either.

If you take the time to go back and read all the 'air' I've posted over the last 5 years, you'll find that I am right alot more than I am wrong.

I can understand the complaints but ARS will always rock :thumbsup

taboo_gal 02-24-2004 01:12 PM

I don't think, in the midst of such a major change, providing more advanced warning is unreasonable. It isn't like they were updating their stats or making a payout change. Thus, It is understandable that there will be those upset by such an abrupt and major alteration.

I did take a look at the new champs system and I saw one thing that stood out and gave me cause for pause.

9. Webmasters that have exclusive content already can use this content in their sites. They must first license the content to Option Mind Services and provide the model release paperwork. Option Mind Services will host the content for the webmaster to use in their site.

Why would any webmaster want to do this? If they license it to Option Mind, doesn't that give Option Mind the right to re-distribute? In that case, your exclusive content wouldn't be so exclusive anymore.

Perhaps I just don't understand the reasoning. Can anyone assist?

Marc De 02-24-2004 01:50 PM

taboo_gal - the licensing agreement would state it could be used on Adult Video Planet only... A license doesn't meant rights to redistribute nor put it on other URLs :)

Once again there you go insulting somebody whom you know nothing about. I understand the numbers perfectly, however I'm sure your last 5 years working a minion, a troll, a grunt, a hired loudmouth, (whatever people call you), have given you far more experience than me.

Perhaps when you undertake your own ventures and are making the big shot decisions for yourself you will better understand how these things work.

Sometimes women like you just need a big cock in their mouth to shut them up. I don't normally result to petty insults but you are a special case. Congratulations on making it to the top of my 'respected idiots with tits' list.

For all the people that say there was no forewarning i don't understand, these changes have been in talks on the 'ARS' board for some time now(the one your suppose to go to if your expecting to hear news from 'ARS'). We work in an online industry, fast paced, I'm curious, what kind of time would've been sufficient?

But Marc is acting in what he thinks are his best business interests, and I don't blame him for that.

What kind of licensing rights?
If the champs builder (content owner, perhaps producer) decides to pull their site, can it be in the licensing that you no longer have rights to have that exclusive video on AVP?
Or are you not going to sign a license that states this?

AHH - ok now you are kissing his ass. :)

"the past, they sold memberships to high priced, low quality ?cookie cutter? sites. Over the years, after witnessing falling member retention, sinking conversion ratios and a market full of unhappy customers refunding and charging back, a total reinvention was necessary." - from ARS press release

Actually that was exactly what ARS did - sold overpriced, shitty sites.

I think it is probably smart too. They should just make a plan and stick to it this time.
