Nubia is located in the area between the first and sixth cataracts of the Nile, belonging partly to Egypt and Sudan, but the bulk is located in Sudan. Also known as the land of Kush, and deemed by some Greeks to be "The land of the Burnt Faces' Nubia was a respected kingdom. The Kingdom of Nubia flourished for 5,000 years, outlasting Rome, Greece, and Egypt. Nubia conquered Egypt in the late 8th century (The 700's) and ruled for almost a hundred years.

Nubia often influenced and was influenced by Egypt, ending and beginning phases in each others histories.

The Nubian Kingdom often moved up and down the Nile, depending on how successful or dismal their kingdom was. Sadly, the Nubian kingdom was destroyed when the Axum (From Ethiopia) invaded in 350 A.D.
