question about saving an image file

Im stumped, as of a few weeks ago my laptop will only save image files as fucking "Bitmaps". This is not good for animated gif files..

I was resolving the problem by downloading all image files on the other computer and sending them e-mail..now that fucker is doing the same thing.

I have cleared my cache (suggestion of another friend)

but nothing is working..

Is there a setting somewhere so that i may change this maddening bullshit?

thanks in advance

oh, i run xp in one computer and 98 in the other is that is any info needed.

Clear cache, close all IE windows.
Restart

You should have it back.
Also if not, when you go to an image, hit CTRL+f5

Then try to save

Dump IE. Download and install Firefox. I haven't had issues since.
