You make a good point here. What do you suppose the chances would be that more people realize this than we may think, and may really not want to see history repeat itself causing them to vote against Bush? While I am all about a third party being represented in an election, I am also one to think a lot of the people who voted for Nader may have a stronger attraction to voting democrat because they do not want Bush in office.

I think the only reason why Arnold was elected, was to eliminate special interest ( bustumante guy who was taking money from indian casinos ) and to eliminate gray davis for

a) hiding the california problems until he got re-elected and
b) for increasing the car license fees and
c) lame attempt to win votes by suggesting he'd give driver license to undocumented immigrants.

I doubt Arnold stands a chance , when it comes to presidential elections. Being an outsider, can get you some support, but we have seen how it turned out for howard dean. you just cant make it unless you have years of exprience within the washington.
