Marians galleries just look like many sponsor galleries, didn't mean that they are bad just that I want something that stands out from such galleries.

I can stand the critics. I mean people are different. Its nice that someone knows exactly what he needs.

Sometimes flashy works, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on what you're promoting, depends on the designer and how they apply their design, depends on the traffic, depends on a lot of things. Knowing your market, knowing your traffic, knowing what sells for a site or niche is just as applicable. And as for flashy, sometimes flashy sells.. my last "flashy" gallery had a ctr of 11%. Don't tell me flashy never sells.

Well I have made a few sales from them. And I find alot of my galleries listed in the SE. I find that plain and simple galleries make more due to the fact it is seen by more ppl. Because they are not waiting for the huge banners and flashy text being downloaded. so you have more of a chance to make that sale.

And no these are not my best ones. Just some samples.

Marian being one of _THE_ best in the industry, period. Being used by the people who are making some KICKASS money off her designs, which have CONSISTANTLY made those people money for a long time. It's not just about the portfolio, it's about asking around and finding out if a designer's work SELLS. Generally you can get good recommendations from asking the people who make money doing TGP, and most of them are more than happy to give a referance. Asking for designers then blasting them without knowing anything else about their work, their track records, their sales abilities or anything is kind of like going in to buy a luxury car only ever having looked at a picture but not asking what they can do.

:eek7 out of 9 samples there were only 3 with black back grounds lol *shrugs* You are the one paying so I respect that. I like this thread though, some wembasters say alot of designers build to impress other webmasters I totally agree with that statment, I myself build to impress the surfer and client! At least I try shit i've built thousands of galleries in the last 3 years and the last 6 or so months I've been doing alot of orders for bigger sponsors, and building paysites for people as well.

I know my shit converts that is why I have either a money back or redo the order if they don't make their money back. *shrugs* good luck with your quest in finding the perfect designer and have a great weekend.

The Gallery People undercut everyone and that was part of the problem with them I think. They weren't charging enough to make it worth the time they had to put in for the volumes they were dealing with. Sorry to hear you got ripped off.. Good luck finding someone who makes you happy :)

I ordered some work done about a month ago and had the designer send me a very nice looking Page, the problem was it took 1 Min 56 sec to download on a 56k! I had tgp templates done that had the best selling spots Top and bottom covered in pointless graphics. You can bet your ass Im going to be very fucking picky next time before I give anyone any money and anyone else paying for work should be as well.
