Dodgy British Ascents
Dodgy British Ascents
I cannot believe how many US shows even made recently all have so called English people who sound nothing like anyone from the UK. Dyke Van Dyke (in Mary Poppings) seems to have set what we English supposed to sound like.

Its because of the fact there are so many. The one easiest to take the piss outta is gotta be the Scousers accent. I hate it and when I hear someone try to put it on I drives me crazy!
The best English accent is The Geordies!!! They are basically Scottish |

It amazes me that you only have to go a few miles and the local speak a different language.
Being from Bradford we do not have an accent and so its strange when you hear others. Wales is worse as they insist on speaking a language that no other country does.

A good example of a movie with lots of wandering accents is Underworld... Kate Beckinsale has a few scenes where she sounds like she's from north america, then back to england... than to niquragua.. or something.

true BUT being an American in the UK there are just as many people over here that try to do American accents and don't have a clue. In particular any KFC advert. I don't know where that voice over is suppose to be from but it sure as hell isn't Kentucky.
