Transfering a domain name
I'm trying to transfer this domain my friend owned. The domain still loads under the name servers he had setup, but I checked the whois and it said it expired in 2002. I tried a transfer on directnic.com and it doesnt seem to be working. How do I get the domain from him?

You just ask for the domain to be transferred to you, and he'll need to approve the transfer. He'll get a mail at the mail address listed at the WHOIS info. And that's it. At least in theory. I never had toruble with directnic, but other registrars are another story
