FTP client recommendations
FlashFXP: breaks up on large uploads and isn't able to resume for some reason
WS_FTP: Seems to use all my DOWNstream, too , even though I am just UPloading. So I cannot surf when uploading What FTP client do you recommend other than WS_FTP and FlashFXP? One that deals well with uploading large files, and is always able to resume broken uploads |

I know you said you had problems with Flash FXP but i've tried just about all of them and it's by far the most solid one out there IMHO. How large of an upload are you doing?
Voyager is decent too but it cost more than fxp |

Another vote for CuteFTP.
If you have a lot of domains, be sure to backup your settings once in a while, though...it's a pain having to re-enter the usernames/passwords if it gets corrupted, etc.

I tried Voyager too but it almost bogs down my computer when starting it up, it's like starting photoshop&dreamweaver&fireworks&10 IE windows at once
FlashFXP used to resume downloads but now it doesn't anymore My uploads are anywhere from 100MB to 2 GB or so So it's quite annoying when it won't resume I'll try AceFTP and BulletproofFTP now I guess |

You'd have to be nuts to ftp to a porn site.
You are sending your username and password in plain text to every fucking hacker on every adjacent server in the data center. Take 30 seconds and download WINSCP - works perfectly and runs securely over SSH; I upload gigs at a time over it with no dropped files.

i use ws_ftp pro, never have issues, but if you're looking for something else you might try out ncftp. it's a pretty nice CMI client, natively for unix, but there are win versions as well

I use FlashFXP in SSL mode, big files are ok, timeouts are ok, and resuming in up/downloading is working fine (even bandwidth limiting)
i am using version 2.1.something. it's the best client i found for years now that has all those features (and working!) that i need. if you can get the latest one, and configure it properly, i recommend only that one. |

Oh, I forgot FileZilla(http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/) It is free and open source. There is also a free and open source server by the same name available.

Download from here free http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/download.php (it looks just like an FTP client and any newb can use it) (It uploads a LOT faster than any FTP client I have ever used too) |
