PC? Adobe Premiere with a Matrox extreme pro setup.

I saw Premier on one of my buds computers - that shit looks way too confusing. Is there a good program that'll do the basic shit that a novice doesn't have to spend a year learning?

Pinnacle Studio 8, if you don't plan to burn DVDs (good luck). It's cheap now that version 9 just came out. It's easy to learn/use and allows you to do most basic stuff.

Pinnacle Studio 8 or 9 If you want kick ass stuff MAC: Final cut pro with all the trimmings. PC: Tons to choose from.
