Whats the best msg board software? ive been using ikonboard and really dont like it, perl is evil.
i just installed http://www.invisionboard.com on another job and liked it.. is there any argument as to why GFY uses vBulletin? thanks - Seth |

vBulletin and InvisionBoard are both great.
A third option (free, Open Source) is phpBB , which with a nice skin can look fantastic. You can see it in action at: http://forum.mp3.com/forum/index.php http://www.walmartsucks.com/ among other sites.

I think one reason vBulletin is "better" to some is that there is a very active community around it, in terms of skins, hacks, etc. See www.vbulletin.org for example.
One reason I like InvisionBoard, though, is that they have a hosted option (the company that created it does the hosting, handles all upgrades, etc.). If vBulletin did the same, I might consider switching, as I like a true turnkey system.
