I'm burnt out on adult so I'll never do this...

But I'll share this idea with GFY so maybe someone else can benefit from it..


What are the biggest TGP's famous for?
Why are they Big?
What makes their traffic high quality?


Bookmarks. Bookmarks. Bookmarks.


So if you want to have a truely successful TGP, you want to to get as many people to bookmark as possible (like I'm telling you anything new here).


So now comes the question...

how do you know if someone is returning from a bookmark or not?

A visitor hitting your TGP/webiste from a bookmark has no referring url.

* Note, there are other reasons that people might not have a referring url as well. But if you have an active idea working to promote bookmarking, then by far, these HTTP_REFERER-less users will be bookmarkers.

So now you can easily identify when people are returning from bookmarks. Fantastic!

But now the big question...

How do you get them to bookmark in the first place?

My short answer: Offer them something daily that they really want access to & only give them the password for it, or access to it, if they are visiting your site without a HTTP_REFERER

Examples of things to entice people to bookmark:

A real-time chat room that is password protected daily.
A chat forum that is password protected daily.
Daily news headlines, that are password protected daily.
A free trial pass to some sort of adult feature that is password protected daily.

Basically anything that you can think of that would entice the user to come back daily, but requires the user to get the daily password to access it

And the only way you would show them the daily password, is if they have hit your site from the bookmark (meaning they have no HTTP_REFERER)


Does this make sense?

Everyone trying to start a good TGP does that.

I'm just saying create an additional HOOK that they can only access when returining from a bookmark. You TRAIN them to visit your site by bookmark.

easy workaround--

have a huge un-missable bookmark link / image that adds a bookmark, to let's say--

http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?mark=true


Then at the top of your index.php site, or wherever in the page, simply put:

[?php

if ($mark hahahaha "true") {
    echo "The password is: TODAY'S PASS";
}

?]

If you do this, people accessing your domain from a link or by directly typing in the url (yoursite.com) won't include the /index.php?mark=true portion. Problem solved

Because I knew the first thing I would hear was:

And like I said in the quote --- if you have an active system that is building tons of bookmarks, the # of people who see the daily password "for free" without bookmarking, will be very small in comparison to the # of people seeing it because they bookmarked.




But using a script page for the bookmark definitely takes care of that problem...

The downside to using a script is then you wouldn't get the front page hits registered by counter sites as bookmarks.

I suppose you still could by hacking a redirect up a little. Hmmm.

How about a TGP that displays a daily numbered list of 100 galleries....

But if you are visiting the site and you have HTTP_REFERER (you came to the site from another link) then it would display

Because what I am trying to say is people get jerked around by TGP's all the time... you can have a 300k TGP one day and under 1k hits on that same TGP the next day if your trades die.

Every person that returns from a bookmark or types in your domain is a repeat visitor of yours.



Once you build this following & you're established in the top 10 on counter lists, you can get all the trades and submissions you could handle.


I was originally going to couple this with a traffic brokering business using a custom traffic analysis module that would catch cooks like nothing else.

See.. Rich gets it & Rich is #2 king of TGP's.

He even wrote the book on how to make 10 300k TGP's in < 30 days or something.



But seriously Rich... I just threw the chat idea out there as example to get peoples gears moving. There are quite a few things that I could think of that you could use as your hook. The key is to just come up with something unique. Definitely consider blending mainstream things into it


See... the idea is to make this hook the primary reason for them coming to your site.

If you are building returning visitors (bookmarkers or direct) in high volume like that daily, your numbers on the counters are going to climb fast.

Big numbers on the counter = more/bigger people wanting to be listed on your site.

First of all, people bookmark because they like what's on your page in the first place. If bookmarkers get more stuff, you'd get more bookmarkers by putting that stuff on your site for non-bookmarkers... you know, the people that still need convincing.

Second, people use all sorts of ways to get to sites. Some just click a link on another page to your site every day, or simply type your url in google. Those people are most often the newbies, the ones that can make you the most money.

Third, offering something especially for bookmarkers sounds too much like a gimmick, or maybe something shady. It sounds like you're trying to sell something, which actually makes it harder to get the bookmarkers you want.


If you want to get bookmarkers, get an easy to remember domain name (most bookmarkers are actually typ-ins), offer great content, have an easy to navigate site, and make the surfer feel "safe" on your page (no links to popup hells, no misleading links, etc).
If you want to put something on the site specifically for bookmarkers, make it something that is easily accessible for non-bookmarkers which is only useful on return visits. For instance, offer something that lets them anonymously store their porn links or offer a hq vid series that is updated daily or weekly.

All the more reason to use my idea. It T R A I N S them on how to easily revisit your site from their computer. If there is a daily updated feature that they like & that they are coming back for - they'll have to do it via bookmark or by remembering and typing in your name.

This way you get credits for "bookmark" visitors on the various counters. And the big players know that "bookmark traffic" is higher quality than blindly-clicked-a-link traffic. See?

I'm not sure how shady it would sound, but it costs them very little (a bookmark & return visit) to find out if it was a geniune offer or not. If it was a geniune offer & they were interested enough to bookmark & return for it -- then you're in like flynn.

Let's face it, if you offer a semi-normal amount of content but throw in many blind links, people just aren't gonna bookmark a lot. They'll click a few links, then get directed to another site where something gets their attention, and they're gone until they've blown their load... at which point they'll just close all the open windows.
To get them to bookmark, they need to find something exceptional... the site which lets them find the porn they need without redirection and shit.

Training surfers generally doesn't work that well, sadly enough. Many have tried it, but the reality remains that surfers just want to do things whichever way they prefer with as little interference as possible from the sites they visit. If they need to do extra stuff to see your site, chances are they won't be bothered.

Your idea could work, but then you'd need to use a reward that really makes it worth it to the surfer... generally, a reward that big would have an equally great effect if it was available to all surfers.
