Hmm. I used to create 7Mbit load hotlinking 5K html page when my own traffic was only 3Mbit and 95% of it was pics and movies indeed. So it's not a big deal to get someones server down if you know how to do this and the owner of that server is not good in its management.

I doubt you can redirect that much of pure clicked traffic to simple gallery page so that it put the whole server down. I bet that simple gallery page on any of my servers can hold at least 500 thousands visitors per day.

And honestly, properly configured server won't go down at all desite of how many traffic you send to the URL. It will just cut the exceeding connections off. Many surfers will get timeout but it still will be possible to connect it via FTP/SSH.
