Quite good choice. Personally I think with the top down the Cabriolet looks great but with the top up I like the Coupe much more. I was not aware that the Cabriolet lost so much performance till I looked it up.
A standard Coupe Turbo with 415hp does 0-60 in 3.9 Sec The X-50's 2004 Porsche 911 (twin) Turbo awd (X50) (0-60) 3.7 (1/4 mile 11.86 @ 119.91 Braking 110' 2004 Porsche 911 (twin) Turbo awd (X50) Cabriolet (0-60) 4.06 (1/4 mile 12.31 @ 120.63 Braking 119' Hey Quite if your looking for the fastest convertible look no further than the new SL600. It does 0-60 in like 3.6 Sec and the 1/4 mile in 11.90 @ 120mph 493hp and 590lb of torque. But I still like the Porsche more :winkwink: |
don't know where you got your numbers from, but the sl600 is not even remotely that fast.
plus, it's not a sports car. http://www.fast-autos.net/mercedes/03mercedessl600.html sl600 numbers. 4.7 to 60. |

I am totally aware of that I was just surprised it lost that much performance. :-) Quote:

It's a Beast none the less. It's the Luxury car that kicks Sports cars asses.
Pretty amazing. Good thing it's not a sports car. LOL BTW that Car & Driver is tested by them up against other cars that did 0-60 in 4.5 and blew them away. Quote:

go back to your magazines. |
I thought I was cool when I bought the 911 a month ago. Then after driving around miami for 3 days, Porsches of all kinds are a dime a dozen down here.. Hell Ferrari's dont even turn heads, Only Lambo's and Bentleys!

Don't be jealous. Just because you don't Fit in a Porsche. I did not offend anyone here for you to start taking shit. Your just a dick.

Am I jealous that quiet can buy several - hell no, I'm HAPPY for him. i'm leaning towards a rebuilt old classic car for myself though - they were usually bigger. i LOVE the paint on your car quiet - I had a 4X4 truck with a similar color. |
I have 2, 911 & a boxster. Good 4 the ladies:Graucho

Cabriolet would be alright if your having your midlife crisis, i think the hard top is far nicer, :2 cents:

quiet, those are some gorgeous pics. Alberta's got some spots that are almost as nice as BC ;)

Remember Sleazy is 6'4".... regardless of weight that height would make for a tight fit in most high end sports cars. I have a Car and Driver mag where they review the Lamborghini Countach and one of the test drivers was 6'2". He said he felt like he was being wedged into the car like a sardine into a can. |

As for the car. I like your choice, but I would seriously consider something a little more exotic. I love the Porsches, and would own another one, but there are some hot limited models coming out of Detroit over the next 6 months. I am not comparing US iron to anything coming out of Germany, but these are some choice rides. High on my list right now is the Ford GT or Cadillac's V12 if it ever hits the market. http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/index.asp?bhcp=1 As for the people suggesting ways to save money by buying inferior models. You just don't understand. This is not about saving money, this is about having superior machinery and engineering. -dd |
Hi Quite,
Here are 2 pics of the turbo I had which was Artic Silver without the X50 package. I will try and take a few pics of the one I have now tomorrow. http://carlover.150m.com/_webimages/IMG_1228s.jpg http://carlover.150m.com/_webimages/IMG_1048.JPG |
Here is another nice pic at South Beach:

this thread motivates me to close GFY and get back to work.
peace folks. |
Go for the TURBO. When the boost kicks in, hold on. Porsche made my 1993TT so that you can very easily remap the cpu and change the turbos for 500hp.
http://www.drunkspringbreakgirls.com/gfy/p/P1010157.jpg ALMOST FAMOUS http://www.drunkspringbreakgirls.com/gfy/p/thecover.jpg http://www.drunkspringbreakgirls.com/gfy/p/5.jpg |
I think it's quite distasteful that Porsche would choose to name one of their cars after the World Trade Center disaster.
