Alright, need some help with member galleries - GoFuckYourself.com

So I am working on putting a members gallery together for a new site and it's looking pretty bare. All I have is a page with 25 pictures on every page and the models name at the top, and for the rest of the pictures for the models there is a "Next Page" link. I have no ideas for how to spice this up. So, please post some advice of what I could add or do to make it look more exciting. Or, if you think that that doesn't need to be done, just say why pictures in a table on a bacground are fine. Or, if you really want to help me out, you could give me a temporary pass to one of your members sections so I can check it out and get a feel of what direction I should head. Yeah, I am going to add some stories for every model, and for navigation I was thinking just putting the direct links pages 1, 2, 3, etc. But do you think it needs more as far as eye candy, like fancy graphics and stuff, or would that be just a waste? Post some criticism.

I'm going through the same process with my wife's new site -
"personality" is the key when dealing with 'real' amateur sites, and everything that I'm looking at is focused with that goal in mind.

With a 'typical' site that features multiple models, personality isn't as necessary as is quantity / variety. You can definitely use better navigation (keep thinking internal links). Using an 'included' JS drop-down nav box that linked all galleries together is smart, and by calling it as an include (rather than manually adding the code to each page), updating the gallery listing is simple.

One thing I did for Ayrora was to use a slideshow + DHTML 'blend' transition between full-size pics, each of which are on their own page, and the pics (as well as thumbs) have a drop shadow effect. Cool stuff, and reasonable to implement, as long as your solution is gracefully degradable so luddites running Netsuck or some other non-current-MSIE varient will still see 'something' - even if it's not "the good stuff."

Keep in mind that fancy graphics are often really lame > graphics should only be used to enhance your message, maybe even the presentation, but 'eye candy' for its own sake is a waste of time, energy, and bandwidth.

Creativity is the key - dick around until you find something that YOU enjoy, and would be willing to PAY for!

I don't think eye candy is that necessary, but if you'd like to spice it up a bit:

Make each girl's name a graphic. Takes five minutes to whip up a small stylized gif.

Have a background image of the girl tacked to the upper left. Make it a few hundred pixels wide and about 700 high. Make sure she's cut out of the original image and give it a 30-40% opacity.

Put little nav buttons at the bottom.

Put a black 1px border around the thumbs.

The story idea is good.

Just suggestions. I like things as simple as possible, personally. Once they're sold, they just want quick access to what they bought.
