It is found that mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures most of the diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine for centuries. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Baan' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients also. A famous magazine named Weekly World News published in Canada dated 17 January, 95 has given a list of diseases that can be cured by Honey and Cinnamon as researched by western scientists.

Arthritis

Take one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two. Or arthritis patients may daily, morning and night take one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If drunk regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research done at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week out of the 200 people so treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

Hair Loss

Those suffering from hair loss or baldness, may apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found to be very effective.

Bladder Infections

Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of luke warm water and drink it. It destroys the germs of the bladder.

Toothache

Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be done 3 times a day daily till such time that the tooth has stopped aching.

Cholesterol

Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, if given to a cholesterol patient, it reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken 3 times a day any chronic cholesterol is cured. As per the information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complains of cholesterol.

Cold and Cough

Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

Infertility

Yunani and Ayurvedic have been using honey for years in medicine to strengthen the semen of men. If impotent men regularly take two tablespoon of honey before sleeping, their problem will be solved. In China, Japan and Far-East countries, women who do not conceive and to strengthen the uterus have been taking cinnamon powder for centuries. Women who cannot conceive may take a pinch of cinnamon powder in half teaspoon of honey and apply it on the gums frequently throughout the day, so that it slowly mixes with the saliva and enters the body.

Upset Stomach

Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.

GAS : According to the studies done in India & Japan, it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

Heart Diseases

Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread or chappati instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.

Immune System

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.

Indigestion

Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

Influenza

A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ingredient which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu. Longevity Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly arrests the ravages of old age. Take 4 spoons of honey, 1spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, 3 to 4 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life span also increases and even if a person is 100 years old, starts performing the chores of a 20 year old.

Pimples

Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples completely.

Skin Infections

Eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections are cured by applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts.

Weight Loss

Daily in the morning, 1/2 hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup water. If taken regularly it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also drinking of this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

Recent research in Japan and Australia has reveled that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month 3 times a day. Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful than detrimental to the body strength. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon power in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton who has done research says that half tablespoon honey taken in one glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3.00 p.m. when the vitality of the body starts decreasing, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

Bad Breath

People of South America, first thing in the morning gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water. So their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

So are you going to your local store for all of this or are you ordering it all from one place? I'm thinking since I'm in a small town I need to find one place to order it all from instead of 5 different places. Unless I just drive to Dallas and stock up for a months worth at a time.

Ya, I just read something about that here:
http://www.life-enhancement.com/arti...ate.asp?ID=914

It says the people taking 1 gram of cinnamon a day had the same effects as the people taking 6 grams a day. It says 1 gram may be more than enough...any opinions KRL?

slapass 02-14-2004 08:55 PM

Are you losing the weight because you puke after that much cinnamin?

I am gaining pounds and anything that i can do while I sit on my ass and make money is worth doing but it sounds like a lot of cinnamon.

makefuckingmoney 02-14-2004 08:56 PM

Its all relative to your current weight..

when you said you lost 7 lbs in a week..what were you before and after..and height..?

I know some people that could lose about 4 lbs when they take a digger..

No puking. It just makes your body feel like your sugar levels are set just right. That's why the cravings are gone.

I've tried lots of stuff. This natural way is the first that I've seen really work, and I can't believe how fast.

Great thread, thanks for sharing... I have a friend who is borderline diabetic, type II to stress and prefers the natural way. But he is taking diabetes medication so I am not sure how he would take it...

goBigtime 02-14-2004 09:24 PM

We had a long thread going about alternative medicines going yesterday (well.. Me Vs. Everyone)... but this thread is another good example.

When KRL says cinnamon + honey + greentea + lemon is good.. everyone here is listening and believing (myself included).

Same thing goes with when the FDA, NIH, CDC, WHO tell people something is good/bad for them.

People listen to & trust what the various agencies tell them are good & bad for them.

Why can't they spend a million dollars investigate something like this?

They waste billions left and right on things we never know about, see, or benefit from.

As far as cinnamon goes I think it probably has really good anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.... that or depending on how much magnesium it has.... maybe that's what helps people.

Bottom line is _I_ (unlike bluff :Graucho) wouldn't mind if my tax dollars were spent investigating such things. In fact I encourage it.

Have your friend also look into stevia as a sweetner.

Also maybe do a dairy + diabetes search on google and google groups.

Regarding ^ that subject... you'll find lots of people suggesting dairy products cause diabetes.

Then you'll find others (citing tests commissioned by guess who) who say that people should have even HIGHER dairy intakes to help prevent diabetes. :1orglaugh crazy.

It's like they said..."hey can you guys do a test that says dairy is O.K?... hmm actually.. why stop there.. can you just make the test say that you should double whatever your dairy intake is?"

digifan 02-14-2004 09:33 PM

Thanks Gobigtime,

I am sure that honey won't harm him and he's to try the cinnamon an green tea and lemon combo so he can throw away his medication soon. He is not overweight just stressed out and has eye damage to diabetes.. and he is taking pills only.
He was on herbalife products for a year and his blood sugar lever became normal for like 5 years.. now he has problems again having stress. But he has the will power.

mryellow 02-14-2004 09:33 PM

Strippers seem to have success with the Speed Diet.

Nothing like a drug addiction to get those pounds flying. :-P

That's just crazy... you are right. I am a vegan myself eating dairy products, fish, lots of fruits, etc. You need protein, don't you?
Interesting.

goBigtime 02-14-2004 09:42 PM

Anyway KRL....

Thanks for this post.

A friend of mine is trying to lose weight & she has been talking about how she hit a plateau with the weight loss. She also walks about 2-3 miles a day and follows a fairly low carb / low sugar diet.

I'll pass this idea on to her & let you know how it works for her in a week or two :thumbsup

jasonir 02-14-2004 09:42 PM

Did KRL invest in the cinnamon business or something?

Interesting.

You can get plenty of protein as a Vegan. It's just not animal protein.

But if you consume dairy products you aren't vegan you're ... wtf is it?... laco-vegetarain? or ovo-vegetarian? I can't remember what they call dairy eating vegetarians. Dairy eating vegetarian sounds good though :).

Btw.. I edited the post above because the way it was arrange, made it sound like I was agreeing with the dairy industry tests saying people should consume more dairy.

I'm a vagitarian myself :winkwink:

Here are a couple links regarding cinnamon:

Dear Pharmacist: Cinnamon may prove to be the spice of life for diabetics

http://www.naplesnews.com/npdn/ma_fe...642966,00.html

Quote:

The scientists say as little as half a teaspoon of cinnamon appeared to provide benefits that in some cases are nearly as dramatic as those produced by statins -- the cholesterol-lowering drugs that are taken by millions of Americans

quoted from:
Cinnamon May Have Medicinal Use: Study

http://www.healthscout.com/template....=1503519&ap=68
(USA Today)

And here is why the public doesn't know the above:

Quote:

They found that the cost of statin therapy per patient per year is generally lower in diabetics with mildly elevated LDL ($600-$1,000) compared with LDL in the 130 mg/dL+ range ($700 to $2,100), depending on the statin prescribed.

quoted from:

Statins Cost-Effective for Diabetics With Mildly Elevated LDL
http://www.defeatdiabetes.org/Articles/drugs2030711.htm

I wonder what your annual cost for a half teaspoon of cinnamon per day would be? :glugglug

Vagitarian? Lol.. fact is I like cheese and milk and plain yoghurt too much.. and fish. Oh and sometimes I put hard boiled eggsinto my salads too. Can this be a new diet.. please remind me to patent it :)

hottoddy 02-14-2004 09:58 PM

On a related holostic topic, celery seed dramatically lowers blood pressure and cholesterol. Mine was borderline high and I didn't want to go on any meds. I buy the cheap raw seeds, grind it, and then add it to my loose tea infuser. Celery seed (also sold as an expensive vitamin extract) is a mild diuretic, calcium channel blocker and anti-inflammatory. It also has anti-bacterial properties, is a natural relaxant, and has show anti-cancerl propeties in some animal studies. Works great for me (bp and cholesterol)

I was skeptical about how the cinamon would taste mixed in....just had a cup and was pretty decent...

KRL, just curious about your opinion on this (i know youre not a doctor or anything), but what would you think about brewing a lot of the tea/cinnamon/honey/lemon at the same time and refrigerating it and drinking it at your convenience?

cool thread - very interesting read

I've only used cinimon on French Toast and hot oatmeal, never even thought it might be good for you

I recently came across medical research info on how MHCP (methylhydroxychalcone polymer) a primary compound found in cinnamon can have an incredible impact on controlling your blood sugar levels. MHCP boosts the glycogen content of muscle and liver cells. In other words, MHCP acts as though it were insulin - it is an insulin mimic. MHCP reduces blood glucose levels not just in the presence of insulin but also in its complete absence - and it does so almost as well as insulin itself.

Cinnamon restores your fat cell's ability to respond to insulin and remove excess glucose out of your system. Cinnamon is also a rich source of magnesium, which is essential for maintaining bone density, electrolyte balance, certain enzyme functions and many other crucial biochemical processes.

Cinnamon reduces acidity in your digestive tract and supercharges the ability of your body to digest foods readily without fat absorption.

Green tea inhibits the action of anylase, a primary digestive enzyme of carbohydrates, and promotes the movement of food through the digestive system.

Honey, which contains some of the most powerful compounds in nature when mixed with cinnamom and green tea create a formulation together that essentially prevents your body from accumulating fat.

So about a week ago I started adding a teaspoon of pure cinnamon powder to every cup of green tea I drank, along with honey and a few drops of pure lemon juice. On the first day I did this I felt all my sugar and carb cravings simply vanish. It was like my body was in balance again. My energy levels went way up as well.

I got on the scale the next day and I saw my weight down by a pound. I thought hmmm, that's a good sign. Next day 2 more pounds were gone. By the end of the week, I dropped 7 pounds.

That might not sound like a lot, but most diets are only able to knock off 1 to 3 pounds realistically per week. So it was over double the normal weight loss.

I'm curious to see if this works for anyone else who's heavy. Just drink about 3 to 6 cups of green tea per day, mixed with a teaspoon of pure cinnamon powder, honey, and lemon juice.

The cinnamon is the key, cause as soon as I added that in the mix the fat started to disappear fast as lightning.

Post results if you try it.

:thumbsup

I had a cinabon at the airport yesterday, does that count?

malakajoe 02-14-2004 10:28 PM

Great read...1 comment and 1 question.

1. You referenced Weekly World News in one of your threads. Now, I have always agreed with the benefits of honey...but Weekly World News? LOL!!! :1orglaugh

I am currently 110... 8 lbs over my "norm". (I am short and have tiny bones so I have no eating disorder before the flames come on)

I have been as large as 150+ 10 yrs ago and I have been through every fucking diet in the book:

Atkins: raised my cholesterol to a dangerous level
Vegetarian: Sorry, I like Steak too much.
Pill: Total Bullshit I tried in College

Solution: Eat well balanced meals and don't eat too much fat, too much carbs, too much of anything.... just keep yourself in check! :thumbsup

I am not a dr. either but I think you should make your daily dose only and drink it at your convenience but before meals.
Herbalife have a product containing green tea extract and lots of herbs which you mix with hot or cold water but it is not decaffeianated. It also has Orange pekoe, maltodextrin, cardamom extract, soy bean oil and hybiscus flower powder in it. I have low blood pressure and like it much better than coffee.

Ok here's a question for those who have tried it...

I ground my own cinnamon....

I used about a teaspon of cinnamon, a squeeze of lemon, a teaspoon of honey and decaf green tea.

When I got to the bottom of the cup there was all the cinnamon and honey mixed err... more like jelled together in this saliva-like consistency.

Did you get this too?

And did you drink the entire cinnamuck at the bottom?

I'm brewing 2 cups from the same tea leaves. They say you can brew up to 3, but I found after 2 it really gets weak.

I let the 2nd cup go for 4 mins. (3 mins on the first one)

Another great thing is Alpha Lipoic Acid. That helps to metabolize your carbs and lots of other beneficial things. (see below)

Cardiovascular System

Lipoic Acid helps to prevent Atherosclerosis [scientific research - animals].

Electromagnetic Radiation

Lipoic Acid reduces the toxic effects of exposure to Radioactivity [scientific research - humans: persons exposed to Radioactivity after the Chernobyl incident who received Lipoic Acid supplements exhibit greatly lowered oxidative damage as a result of Radioactivity exposure].

Eyes & Eyesight

Lipoic Acid helps to prevent Age-Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) (due to the Antioxidant properties of Lipoic Acid; Lipoic Acid can penetrate Eye tissue and protect both the Lens and the Retina from degeneration) [scientific research].
Lipoic Acid alleviates Glaucoma [scientific research - humans: after 1 month of treatment with 150 mg of Lipoic Acid per day 47% of persons with Glaucoma exhibited improvement in visual acuity, visual field, color discrimination and increased lacrimal tear fluid].
Lipoic Acid protects the Lens of the Eye from degeneration [scientific research].
Lipoic Acid protects the Retina of the Eye from degeneration [scientific research].

Immune System

Lipoic Acid (450 mg per day) improves the overall health of persons afflicted with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS):

Lipoic Acid increases the plasma Glutathione levels of persons afflicted with AIDS.
Lipoic Acid increases the plasma Vitamin C levels of persons afflicted with AIDS.
Lipoic Acid retards the replication of the HIV Virus (by inhibiting the Reverse Transcriptase enzyme that is participates in the replication of HIV, and by inhibiting Nuclear Factor Kappa B (NF-Kappa B) that activates HIV replication) [scientific research - in vitro].
Lipoic Acid stimulates the Immune System [scientific research - animals].
Metabolism

Lipoic Acid possesses Antioxidant properties:
- Lipoic Acid is a potent scavenger of Hydroxyl Free Radicals.
- Lipoic Acid increases the body?s Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) [scientific research - animals].
- Lipoic Acid normalizes Blood Sugar levels [scientific research].
- Lipoic Acid acts as a coenzyme in the metabolism of Carbohydrates.
- Lipoic Acid inhibits the Cross-Linking of the body?s endogenous Proteins.

Lipoic Acid facilitates Muscle recovery from Exercise [scientific research - humans].
Lipoic Acid acts as a coenzyme in the metabolism of Fatty Acids.
Lipoic Acid (300 - 600 mg per day) reduces Insulin Resistance (i.e. it increases Insulin sensitivity) [scientific research - rats].

Lipoic Acid acts as a coenzyme in the metabolism of Proteins
.
Lipoic Acid is essential for the decarboxylation of Pyruvic Acid and other Keto Acids.
Lipoic Acid prevents and alleviates many of the detrimental side effects that occur as a result of Diabetes Mellitus (both Type 1 and Type 2):

- Lipoic Acid helps to prevent the onset of Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 [scientific research - animals].
- Lipoic Acid improves Glucose utilization and disposal in persons afflicted with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 [scientific research - humans].
- Lipoic Acid reduces the incidence of Cataracts in persons afflicted with Diabetes Mellitus [scientific research - animals].
- Lipoic Acid prevents the (diabetic) Neuropathy that is a common side effect of Diabetes Mellitus [scientific research - humans: Lipoic Acid improves nerve blood flow, reduces oxidative stress and improves distal nerve conduction in experimental diabetic neuropathy].
- Lipoic Acid is used therapeutically to treat Liver ailments and it protects the Liver from the toxic effects of many Pharmaceutical Drugs.

Lipoic Acid is an effective therapy in the treatment of Food Poisoning by toxic Mushrooms.

Musculoskeletal System

Lipoic Acid improves the body's utilization of Glucose within the Muscles and increases the body?s production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) within the Muscles [scientific research - humans].

Lipoic Acid Enhances the Function of these Substances

ENDOGENOUS SUBSTANCES

Amino Acids
Lipoic Acid increases intracellular Glutathione levels by 30-70%.

Carbohydrates

Lipoic Acid improves the body's utilization of Glucose within the Muscles.
Lipoic Acid facilitates the conversion of Glycogen into Glucose.

Enzymes

Lipoic Acid protects Catalase from oxidation.
Lipoic Acid protects Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) from oxidation.

Krebs Cycle Chemicals

Lipoic Acid increases the body?s production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) within Muscles [scientific research - animals].

Proteins

Lipoic Acid inhibits the Cross-Linking (glycosylation) of some types of endogenous Proteins (including Albumin) [scientific research].

EXOGENOUS SUBSTANCES

Quinones

Lipoic Acid regenerates Coenzyme Q10.

Vitamins

Lipoic Acid helps to recycle Vitamin C (it facilitates the conversion of Dehydroascorbic Acid to Ascorbic Acid) [scientific research].
Lipoic Acid prevents the symptoms of Vitamin E deficiency [scientific research - mice: although Lipoic Acid does not spare or regenerate Vitamin E, it appears to exert a Vitamin E-like effect and counteracts the effects of Vitamin E deficiency].

Lipoic Acid Counteracts these Potentially Toxic Substances

Vitamin Byproducts

Lipoic Acid regenerates Dehydroascorbic Acid back into Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) [scientific research - rats].

I don't know about all that herbal stuff...even normal stuff.

I think this is about more than losing weight.. YOu can exercise to your heart's content, and it will HELP you be healthy, but things like this can add and make your exercise more effective, as well as putting your system into balance.. Kind of like the lubrication of an engine.
