well from what i hear you can be on aol's whitelist one day, and then the next day you are being blocked or your mail is going straight to the spam box

It is not an easy problem to solve that is for sure. I get like 300 spams a day. Filters work so so. I just spend the time to clean out my in box. A few minutes every hour or so. It is a pain but the email is free. I guess there is a price for everything, even that stuff which is free.
