Do you guys promote your site on blogs/guestbooks?

I just saw a thread here at GFY asking about blogs and I just realized that they could be a nice way to advertise... Specially free sites...

I've heard before that the hun, in the early days, used to advertise his site on guestbooks.

So I ask you, have you ever advertised your site on blogs/guestbooks? Is their traffic any good? How do you guys do it? I mean, you just go on google and start from there, or is there a list of highly visited blogs?

Whats the point of having a blog if you don'T make any money out of hit . Off course ! ANd it gives you high PR to have a lot of blogs linking to you .

This should be a given, blogging is unfortunately catching on and you can reach a large amount of normally untapped visitors from this type of promotion. Hell I just switched my TGP a month ago to a blog and noticed conversions on the rise.

These are secrets that are not suppose to be given out. It takes a long time to figure it out on your own. The difference between the haves and have nots.

It takes time, lots of it to promote a site. Or a staff to do the grunt work. Taking time to blog on top of everything else...

We'll put, I have a friend of mine asking me questions every fucking day about se traffic and other shit. I asked him to think about this 5 years ago I started in this biz and didn't have a fucking clue. As the years go by you make more and more. The reason you make more and more is because you put time into your work!

I told him give me 20,000 grand and I will help him out. He said what are you fucking nuts? I said no that is what I feel I should be paid for my knowledge.

After that he leaves me alone and hits me with a question every now and then.
