transparency animated gifs photoshop/ image ready (need help)

I'm trying to make a transparent animated gif in imageready and I can't remember how to get it transparent.

When you open up the new file where you say how wide / tall you want the image select 'transparent' for the background

yah i know that part in photoshop, (making a non animated transparent gif) but when i switch over to image ready and add a frame of animation and "save opt as" i lose the transparency..

check what your save setting are for when you save the optimized image.

slect save opt as...

then look at the button at the btm of the first window that opens

there is a button with output setting on it

make sure that you have 'copy background image' selected ;)

nope still not working

When I have the psd open in image ready i show the transparent background when the "original" tab is selected but when i click the "optimized" tab the checkerboard disapears and turns back solid white.
